Some people argue that technology is secondary to the “idea”, the creative moment of brilliance.
A better way to look at is that technology is indeed not the restrictor it once was and anything is possible. Understanding it's potential however, greatly improves the chance of coming up with the great idea in the first place.
Technology has long been the domain of the geeks who have surrounded it in mystery in a bid to retain power. The truth is the technology is incredibly complicated but that does not mean it can’t be explained in English.
Additionally technology evolves now quicker than it ever has. Websites have a much shorter shelf life before they are renewed and costs for the underlying technology continues to come down and down. The decision on using costly “enterprise” software Vs open-source or bespoke is therefore not as straightforward as it once was.
